This article covers both the setup and daily use of the Ratings and Reviews feature in your branded mobile app. As soon as a class ends, your opted-in clients will receive a notification on their mobile phones. They can choose to leave a review immediately, or fill it out later from the Schedule section of the app.

How to disable Ratings and Reviews for all clients

In order to edit the settings for your branded mobile app, you'll need to log in to the Branded App Administration Panel. This is a separate log in portal from your MINDBODY site and uses its own set of login credentials.

Editing app settings require either the owner login that was assigned to you when you registered for your branded mobile app, or a staff member login that you have created. If you cannot remember the owner password for your app, simply click the "Forgot Password?" link before logging in.

  1. Log in to the Branded App Administration Panel.
  2. Click Locations.

  3. Click on the Edit Location (pencil) icon to the right of the location you'd like to edit.

  4. Click on the App Settings tab.

  5. Tick the Disable Reviews Tab checkbox under Miscellaneous Settings.

  6. Click Save in the upper right-hand corner of your screen.

How your clients will opt in to Ratings and Reviews

Your clients will only be asked to leave a review if they have enabled the "Prompt me to review visits" option in the Settings section of the app.

To enable (or disable) ratings and reviews:

  1. Tap More > Settings at the bottom of the main menu.User-added image

Even with this option disabled, your clients can choose to review a past service from the client profile section of the app.

How to leave a review for a past service

Clients who have opted out of the review notification, or simply didn't receive it, can review completed classes from the client profile section of the app. They can also modify previous reviews from this screen.

How to see reviews left by other clients

Any reviews left by your clients will appear in the More > Reviews section of the app. (Ratings with no comment won't appear here.)

How to respond to reviews

You can respond to a client's review, either publicly or via email, through the Ratings & Reviews report in your MINDBODY software.

You can find this report by clicking on the Reports tab in your site, selecting the Clients tab on the left-hand side, and then choosing the Ratings & Reviews report.

When this report is generated in "Detail" view, you can then click the small gear icon beside each review to provide your response.

Things to know

  • Clients who register for a class will be asked to leave a review even if they are not signed in to it.
  • Clients who are early cancelled by the business will still receive a review prompt after the class takes place. Clients will need to cancel themselves to not receive this prompt.
  • Ratings and reviews are displayed by helpfulness, determined by the number of client thumbs ups. If a review has the same number of thumbs ups as another review, whichever got that number of thumbs ups first will show up first.
  • Any reviews of your business previously left on the MINDBODY® app will carry over to your branded mobile app.
  • You can use the Ratings and Reviews report to view, and respond to, any of these comments.
  • Any new reviews left through your branded mobile app will also appear on your MINDBODY app listing.
