Encourage existing customers to refer their friends and spread the word about your business! The Marketing Suite makes it easy by tracking the clients who've sent new customers your way and automating the rewards process.

Customers that have had a recent visit will automatically receive a message inviting them to join the referral program. They'll also be given a personal referral URL that can be shared in emails, on the web, or through social media.

This feature is only available with certain software packages. For more information on what your subscription includes, click here.

Setting up referrals

To start, log in to your MINDBODY site and then:

  1. Go to the Marketing tab, click Manage to the right of Automations or Email Campaigns, and select Open more tools on the left side.
  2. Click on Smart Marketing > Referral Program on the left side.
  3. Create Your New Customer Offer — Here is where you'll create the offer that will be sent to new customers that have been referred by your existing clients.
    • Flip the "Enable Referral Program" switch to ON.
    • Select a new customer offer: This can be a percentage or dollar-based discount, a custom offer (e.g., free deep conditioning treatment with your first haircut!), or linked to an introductory membership.
    • Click See a Sample or send a test email to check out what your finished offer will look like.
  4. Ask Customers to Refer — These messages are sent to your existing customers to ask them to refer friends and family.
    • Send out your referral link. This page allows your existing clients to send out their own invites and track any redemptions.
    • Click View a Sample Email or send a test message to see what your existing customers will see when joining the referral program.
  5. Reward the First Referral — This is the reward your existing clients receive when they bring you a new customer for the first time. Please note that a referral offer is considered claimed only when a brand new client books an appointment.
    • Select a reward: This can be a percentage or dollar-based discount, a custom offer (e.g.,"Thanks for sending someone our way! Enjoy an extra 30 minutes on your next massage."), or a discount on their membership.
    • Click View a Sample Email or send a test message to see what your existing customers will see when they successfully complete a referral.
  6. Reward Additional Referrals — This is the reward your existing clients receive when they bring you additional new customers.
    • Flip the "Offer additional rewards" switch to ON if you'd like to continue rewarding clients for their referrals; if left off, your clients will only receive a one-time discount for their referrals..
    • Choose how many additional customers your clients will need to bring in before receiving another reward. By default, your clients will receive a reward for each new signup.
    • Click View a Sample Email or send a test message to see what your existing customers will see when they successfully complete an addtional referral.
  7. Click Save at the bottom.

You're all done! Once you've hit "Save," your referral program will be active and emails promoting it will start going out within the next 24 hours to clients that have visited your business recently.
